Looking for an operations role with a supportive Site Lead who is hands-on and involved. The company has invested well in their kit and infrastructure on site, maintains long-standing customer relationships, and continually develops products that hit the mark and gain market share.
Role Overview:
The Operations Manager is always a key role in manufacturing. This Production role will suit someone who is ambitious and wants to develop their career in a business with a successful journey into future growth. The site is constantly investing, and they have a strong track record of operational attainment, manufacturing on-trend product ranges supplying multiple major retailers. There is a great balance of complexity and diversity in the operation. You will manage all manufacturing areas, liaising with technical, planning, and logistics, providing a variety of responsibilities to prioritize and manage. The team is motivated and experienced, providing a great environment and expertise to work alongside.
What will the role involve?
1. Drive day-to-day performance ensuring quality and customer service are central to the KPIs.
2. Lead and develop your team, ensuring they can be their best and are developed on their own career path.
3. Report into the Head of Operations with the autonomy to deliver the manufacturing agenda.
4. Work as part of a cross-functional team, communicating vital operational information to ensure that all teams understand the priorities for the day, week, and month.
5. Further develop a continuous improvement culture within the site where everyone has accountability.
6. Take the lead in production, making key decisions around product integrity and technical issues.
7. Work to deadlines and customer time constraints, prioritizing with organized and effective planning.
8. Set out best practices in operations management, reporting on key deliverables.
Ideal Candidate Background:
1. A manufacturing management background, ideally in an FMCG or food environment.
2. Examples of delivering operational targets through teams in fast-paced environments.
3. Previous success in developing teams and strong engagement plans.
4. Experience working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver success in operations.
5. Proactive approach to continuous improvement and ability to drive and be involved in added value projects.
6. Ability to plan and prioritize key areas within operations with both a strategic and tactical approach.
7. Strong communication skills - visible in the factory, approachable, and clear in written and presentation format.
