We are looking for Exam Invigilators. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT /Barnwood Park School and become an integral member of the team. Barnwood Park is an 11-16 school based in the centre of Gloucester. * To supervise individuals and/or groups of students undertaking school examinations in accordance with the legal and school requirements.
* Have the flexibility to provide invigilating support around specific exam dates.
* Undertake any training enabling you to fulfill your role and duties.
Main responsibilities:
* To assist the Examinations/Data Manager in the smooth and efficient administration, setting up, and running of examinations.
* Closely follow and enforce the school and exam board procedures and regulations, including being familiar with the Instructions for the Conduct of Examinations as provided by the Examinations Boards.
* Support candidates on a 1-1 basis who require assistance (e.g., scribing).
* Assist candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues.
* Ensure candidates do not talk once inside examination venues.
* Invigilate during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with procedure.
* Check attendance during examinations.
* Record details of late arrivals and early leavers and collect scripts from early leavers.
* Escort candidates from venues during the examination as required and supervise candidates whilst outside examination venues.
* Escort candidates on toilet breaks ensuring no unauthorized material is consulted and that examination regulations are observed at all times.
* Ensure that any minor behavior issues are dealt with in line with school policy and that any breaches of the Examination Code of Conduct are reported to the Examinations/Data Manager immediately.
* Collect, collate, and assist with the packing of examination papers, stationery, and equipment prior to the examinations and deliver scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures.
* Supervise candidates leaving examination venues, ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery from the venue without authorization and ensuring that candidates leave venues in an orderly and quiet manner.
* Be available for additional Invigilating Training Meetings.
You will need:
* At least five GCSEs or equivalent, which must include at least a 5/C grade in Maths and English.
* A good standard of education.
* Ability to follow processes.
* Commitment to working within the Schools Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
* Commitment to high standards and expectations.
* Ability to problem solve/work using your own initiative.
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
