Exciting times are ahead of us at Bouygues UK as we look to grow our data centre division.
We are recruiting for a Design Coordinator (or Senior Design Coordinator) to join our team in Newport, working on our data centre projects. This is a great long-term opportunity for someone as we have a strong pipeline of projects ahead of us.
This position would suit someone who is looking to transition from an Architectural Technologist role into the main contracting environment, or someone who already has experience working in a main contractor.
Job Purpose and Scope:
You will contribute to the projects` daily Design Management and to the management of the Design Consultants and liaise between the Design Consultants and the project staff for design matters.
When required, you will liaise with the Site Managers / Preconstruction team for the development of design packages and procurement strategies.
Accountabilities & Key Tasks:
Understand client requirements/output specs
Assist in the review of and if required undertake a review of the Design, procurement and construction information to ensure it complies with Project documentation
Assist in the review of and if required undertake a review of design output and verifies its compliance with Client`s output specifications BYUK`s Contract Proposals submission and Statutory requirements
Prepare monthly report on Activity to DM
Contribute to the Design Management Plan (DMP)
Contribute to and if required prepare Project Documents
Essential & Desirable Criteria:

Relevant Construction or Architecture qualification
Knowledge of the regulatory environment
Good understanding of the Design & Build process
Experience in having an active involvement in the meeting process (organising, preparing, chairing, drafting minutes)
Ability to draft correspondence
Negotiation skills

Basic understanding of procurement routes
Basic understanding of consultant issues
