We have an opportunity for an Information Security and Data Protection Lead in an operational capacity, reporting into our Head of IGRC (our nominated Data Protection Officer), requiring a solid technical understanding. This role involves ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems, developing and implementing data protection protocols, ensuring PCI-DSS compliance, cyber essentials certification and supporting IT disaster recovery and change management. This role is remote with quarterly visits to our Chippenham office.
Responsibilities:
* Data & Security Management: Implement data protection and security measures, ensuring PCI-DSS compliance, cyber essentials certification and facilitating penetration/control testing.
* Business Continuity & Change: Develop IT disaster recovery plans and oversee change management via the Change Advisory Board.
* Policy & Compliance: Establish and maintain technology policies, coordinating audits and ensuring employee policy awareness.
* Operational Excellence: Contribute to company culture, ensure effective communication, and drive continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed
You will act as the primary point of contact for all information security and data protection matters, working proactively to support and guide teams throughout Good Energy. Your ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and accessible manner will be essential for engaging and enabling teams across various departments.
Essentials
* Good understanding of data protection law and regulatory requirements.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrable attention to detail.
* Confident and able to support IT Operations with cyber resilience and IT DR.
* Ability to interpret technical concepts and workflow and distil them into working documents.
* Experience in policy writing and implementation.
Desirable
* Experience in a utility industry.
