Interim Senior Engineer (Structures)

Pay Rate: £39.38 per hour PAYE
35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 6 months
City: WINCHESTER
Hybrid working (mixture of working at home and in the office), with infrequent visits to live sites.
Assist with the collection, assessment and impairment of information that is essential to the successful scheme preparation and implementation process to include liaison with outside bodies and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare or assist in the preparation of technical design and contract documents, to ensure the implementation of structural design projects and improvements within published programmes and budgets estimates for the purpose of assessment and monitoring.
Liaise with relevant bodies (i.e. contractors, public utilities and the like) to include within design duties and programmes, as required.
Work with due regard to Health and Safety of themselves and others at all times. Issues related to sustainability in own working practices and encouraging and influencing others on policies and practices of equality of opportunities
Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers.
RQF Level 4-7 in relevant Engineering field
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of Eurocodes.
Specific working knowledge in the design and construcƟon of bridges and other highway structures and design codes (British Standards, DMRB Standards).
A working knowledge of their duƟes under CDM 2015 Regulations
Experience:
Experience in the management of bridges and other highway structures projects, and supervision of construction projects.
Experienced user of Finite Element and Grillage soŌware packages, e.g. LUSAS and ENCAD
Experienced in undertaking bridge inspections in accordance with the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate at all levels and supervise design work of other team members.
