Please note this is a fixed term position for 18 months Working hours: 16 hours per week Interview Date: W/C 2nd June 2025 Poplar Salvation Army Church & Community Centre is looking for a Youth and Children Mission Worker to support the Corps (Church) with an effective community programme, working specifically with children, young people and their families along with promoting Christian discipleship with the children and young people. The Youth & Children Mission Worker will work alongside the Corps Officers, other workers and volunteers at The Salvation Army in Tower Hamlets. Your Key responsibilities will include: To assist with the delivery of an effective, current children & youth work programme as well as a busy community programme. To run sessions and support programmes which will help children & youth to grow and develop in their relationship with God and encourage links with the corps (church) fellowship. To participate in the mission development process to ascertain the needs of the Church and community’s young people in order to develop relevant children & youth activities. To assist in the setting up of and the tidying and cleaning of the club after each session, and in the general upkeep of the centre, and be responsible for both when running sessions. To work with a team of volunteers / employees to within youth & community programmes To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate: Proven experience of working on own initiative Proven experience of holding confidentiality Good organisational skills Good Interpersonal Skills Must be a Team Player Good Time Management skills This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a practising Christian.
