Salary: GBP30,000 (+ GBP65 per sleep shift) (additional GBP3,000 per year)

About the Role:
Our client, a purpose-built Therapeutic Community located in the scenic rural area of Warwickshire, provides a safe and nurturing home for up to 24 children who have faced early developmental challenges. They are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join their team and positively impact the lives of the children in their care. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred care while leading and mentoring a dedicated team of support workers. You ll have the opportunity to contribute to a therapeutic environment where children can heal, grow, and thrive in a stable and secure home.
The setting consists of four large detached 6-bed residential care homes, complemented by communal gardens, sports, therapy, and amenity spaces that encourage a holistic approach to healing and development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of support workers, offering guidance, training, and ongoing support to maintain high standards of care.
* Deliver therapeutic, person-centred care to children with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
* Create, review, and adapt care plans to meet individual children s needs and personal goals.
* Foster a nurturing and safe environment where children feel valued, heard, and respected.
* Promote independence and life skills, helping children to engage in daily activities and community opportunities.
* Collaborate with internal and external professionals, such as therapists and social workers, to provide integrated care.
* Oversee daily operations, including record-keeping, report writing, and safeguarding responsibilities.
* Serve as a positive role model, ensuring high staff morale and engagement.
Essential Criteria:
* Experience in a Support Worker or leadership role, ideally within residential care, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
* Passion for working with vulnerable children and young people, particularly those with complex emotional and developmental needs.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a team and make informed decisions.
* In-depth understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation.
* Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with children and colleagues.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working in a Therapeutic Community or similar setting.
* Knowledge and experience of therapeutic care approaches.
* Additional qualifications in Child Care, Mental Health, or related fields.
