Job Description
Be part of making lives better as a Support Worker at Jubilee House in Barnsley and experience what delivering great healthcare should feel like.
Use your knowledge, experience, and caring nature to make a positive difference to the lives of people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
You'll be looked after, with a fulfilling career where you're valued, recognised, and supported, with colleagues there for you and a culture built on kindness and teamwork.
There's also a range of training and development options available to help you achieve your career aspirations, allowing you to grow and succeed as a Support Worker and beyond. Over 2,000 staff had a promotion last year, that's 25% of the workforce, so the opportunities really are there.
What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.
12.5-hour shifts and a zero-hour contract gives you the flexibility to work around your schedule.
Where you will be working
Location: 18 Jubilee Gardens, Royston, Barnsley, S71 4FL
You will be working at a specialist care home with nursing in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Jubilee House is a registered care service which embraces and balances the management of risk with comfort, homeliness, dignity, respect and choice.
