Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team based on Scotter ward, John Coupland hospital, Gainsborough on a full or part-time basis. The therapy team provides care and rehabilitation for a variety of special areas including orthopaedics, neurology, frailty and falls, chronic disease management, and other medical conditions.
The candidate should be motivated and enthusiastic and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team. Rehabilitation Assistants will be expected to participate in discussions about the direction of service developments and improvements and will participate in the service audits and changes.
Job responsibilities
Your role will include assisting patients to regain as much functional independence as possible through working on a patient rehabilitation goal approach. The post holder will be able to use skills to carry out simple assessments, follow care plans, and prescribe routine equipment within the scope of the job and to a level of assessed competence.
Person Specification
Qualification
* Health-related NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* 3 GCSEs grade C including Maths and English or equivalent
* Food hygiene certificate
Experience
* Experience within a caring environment
* Experience of rehab environment
* Experience of MDT working
* Experience of community working
Skills and knowledge
* Good communication skills, written and verbal
* Awareness of ill health/ageing/stroke/vulnerability
* Extended clinical skills
Specific requirements
