Job Summary: Wenzel's is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Coffee to lead and elevate our coffee program. This strategic role will focus on increasing coffee sales as a proportion of total revenue while enhancing the quality and consistency of our coffee offerings across all locations. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to drive innovation in our coffee offering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coffee Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement a comprehensive coffee strategy to drive revenue growth and customer engagement.
* Quality & Consistency: Establish and enforce coffee quality standards, ensuring an exceptional experience across all locations.
* Supplier & Product Development: Source high-quality coffee beans, equipment, and accessories, managing supplier relationships to maintain excellence and cost efficiency – to include the optimisation of the existing machine fleet – reducing non-essential costs to Wenzel's.
* Training & Development: Develop & oversee staff training programs to enhance skills, consistency, and customer service excellence.
* Menu Innovation: Collaborate with product development teams to introduce seasonal and specialty coffee offerings that complement our bakery products.
* Operational Efficiency: Work with store managers to optimise workflows, reduce waste, and ensure smooth coffee service operations as part of an overall drive to improve customer experience.
* Customer Experience & Brand Positioning: Develop initiatives that enhance the brand’s reputation as a coffee destination within the bakery sector.
* Sales Performance & Analysis: Track and analyse coffee sales, implementing strategies to boost performance and meet revenue targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in a senior coffee-related role within the hospitality, café, or specialty coffee industry.
* Strong understanding of coffee sourcing, roasting, brewing techniques, and equipment.
* Experience developing and executing growth strategies within a multi-site retail or hospitality business.
* Excellent leadership, training, and communication skills.
* Commercial acumen with a track record of increasing coffee-related revenue.
* Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality and service.

* Salary £50-55k – based on experience (Plus a discretionary bonus scheme, based on revenue uplift)

1. This is a remote role between our Head Office at Sunley House Olds Approach, Northwood, Watford, WD18 9TB, with occasional travel to various shop locations for training and support.
