Company Overview: Our client is a leading specialist contractor in the marine civil engineering sector, delivering a diverse range of complex projects across coastal, port, and inland waterway environments. Their core capabilities include marine piling, jetty construction, coastal defence, and underwater/dive-led works. Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are now seeking a Project Manager to join their delivery team.
Role Overview: As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of marine civil engineering projects from inception through to completion. You will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring that safety, quality, programme, and commercial targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of project delivery, working closely with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
Lead on project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely completion.
Maintain close liaison with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
Monitor health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage budgets, cost control, and forecasting in collaboration with commercial teams.
Provide leadership to site personnel, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and performance.
Prepare and review RAMS, progress reports, and project documentation.
Support business development and tendering activity where required.Requirements:
Proven experience in a Project Manager or Site Manager role within civil engineering – marine or water-based projects highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of project management principles including HSEQ, programme control, and commercial awareness.
Background in marine works, coastal structures, or diving-related operations is highly advantageous.
SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Platinum or appropriate level), and a full UK driving licence.
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple teams/sites and drive results in high-risk environments.Desirable:
Degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline.
Experience managing projects involving marine piling, cofferdams, jetty or quay wall construction, or underwater installations.
Understanding of CDM Regulations and marine licences.Benefits:
