We currently recruiting for a Despatch Clerk to support our distribution contract at our site in Milton Keynes. This role will support and co-ordinate the transport operations. You will be covering afternoon shifts. Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £25,438 per annum. Overtime paid at time and a half. Working hours Monday to Friday from 14.30-23.00. In addition, we offer 20 days holidays (plus bank holidays. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks. What you’ll do on a typical day: Despatch drivers on a nightly basis. Enter Drivers & Agency times on various spread sheets. Update our TMS system. Entering data to complete performance and scanning. Daily completion of trackers. To ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism. To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line manage ment. To ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets. To ensure that the procedure for damaged deliveries is followed where necessary. To use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role including EMS/ SHARP/EVOTIX/TACHOMASTER. Ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc displaying the highest standards of customer service.. To ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management To identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities. To demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking of their role To undertake any other reasonable task as required including providing support as required across both Daimler and Mercedes To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development needs and business requirements What you need to succeed at XPO Working knowledge of driver hours regulations Good geographical knowledge of the UK Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements Operational understanding of team roles Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) Effective communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements. Effective Customer Service Skills Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving. Previous experience within a transport / logistics organization would be an advantage.
