An outstanding opportunity for a support secretary has arisen within the Department of Cardiology.
Would you like to take on a role that provides you with ownership of your work? Would you like to be creative in your approach and be responsible for supporting and ensuring our patients receive the best quality of care by using your skills and experience and our Trust's values and behaviours.
Good communication, organisational skills, and previous secretarial experience is essential as is experience of dealing with sensitive information. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience using hospital based IT systems such as PAS and Medisec will be advantageous.
This post is Permanent
Hours per week: 37.5 hours
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient and effective typing and administration function to the team. The post requires fast and accurate audio typing skills, and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education) or equivalent, grade C or above. Must include English.
* Typing qualifications to RSAII standard. (Royal Society of Arts (professional typing /word processing courses)
* Computer literate to ECDL (European Computer Driving License) standard or equivalent.
* AMSPAR (Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists) Diploma
Experience
* Minimum 2 years secretarial experience
* Hospital based experience
Knowledge and Skills
* Medical terminology
* Fast and accurate audio-typing
* Good communicator - able to deal with people at all levels.
* Ability to handle sensitive information without compromising confidentiality or trust.
* Knowledge of Medisec
* Experience with Patient Management System
* Awareness of NHS policies
