An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Statutory Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Assessment, Planning and Review Team. We are looking to appoint an Inclusion Annual Review Officer who will work within our Annual Review Pod within the SEND Inclusion Teams.
The Pod works in a supportive role within SEND and the post is key to ensuring the quality and timeliness of annual review processes and the Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s) for which the SEND Team are responsible.
What will I be doing?
As a SEND Inclusion Annual Review Officer you will have responsibility for processing annual reviews for our children and young people with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP); ensuring that annual reviews are processed within statutory timescales and that information in the EHCP is up to date and accurately reflects needs and provisions that are appropriate to meet their outcomes.
In this interesting and demanding role you will liaise, on occasion, with education providers and other Local Area professionals, children and young people (up to 25 years of age) and families of children and young people with SEND ensuring that a holistic approach is taken at all times to meet the needs of those with SEND and Bristol City Council’s drive to improve educational outcomes.
This role supports the work of the wider Inclusion Teams within SEND with the overall aim of improving the processing of annual reviews within statutory timescales and the quality of our EHCP plans in Bristol.
What do I need?
You will be a highly motivated and committed individual who is passionate about serving the community and has a drive for improving customer service, processes, and operating procedures.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work successfully with children and young people, families, schools, and those from health and social care. You will have experience of ensuring the voice of the child/young person is heard and supporting them to be aspirational in their long-term goals and outcomes.
