Procurement Excellence Lead - Indirect & Group Categories | UK Leading Food Manufacturer
Location: Midlands (Hybrid working with occasional travel)
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + competitive benefits package
Join a leading UK food manufacturer that's undergoing an exciting transformation. Seeking a dynamic and ambitious Procurement Excellence Lead to drive strategic change within their world-class procurement function. This newly created role will report directly to the Group Procurement Director, offering you the opportunity to lead the Indirect and IT procurement teams, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and category management.
As a key player in shaping the future of procurement, you'll provide strategic leadership, optimise processes, and ensure compliance with sustainability standards. Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Group Procurement Director to restructure Indirect procurement, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across the business.
* Category & Supplier Management: Lead as a subject matter expert in category management, driving excellence in supplier relationships, capability building, and performance target setting.
* Standardisation & Process Optimisation: Refine procurement standards and fully utilise the SAP Ariba platform to maximise value and streamline operations.
* Sustainability Leadership: Spearhead sustainability initiatives within Indirect and IT procurement, ensuring legislative compliance and supporting Scope 3 carbon reduction targets.
* Collaboration & Influence: Act as a key liaison with Group Shared Services, Procurement Governance & Compliance, and Accounts Payable, driving cross-functional collaboration and process improvements.
Skills & Experience:
* Extensive senior-level procurement experience in a fast-paced, complex organisation-experience in the FMCG/Food industry is highly desirable.
* Expertise in indirect category management and supplier management, with a strong understanding of sustainability legislation and practices.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive organisational change.
* Degree and CIPS/MCIPS qualifications preferred.
Location & Benefits:
Based in the Midlands with flexibility for hybrid working, this role also offers occasional international travel to offices in Germany. Alongside a competitive salary of £70,000 - £80,000, you'll enjoy a generous benefits package, including a performance-based bonus.
