Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Marine Specialist to join our team at Red - Specialist Marine Recruitment. As a key member of our Standards and Performance Department, you will play a vital role in providing marine safety and naval architecture support.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance on vessel design and stability matters, as well as supporting internal audits and investigations of incidents. You will also provide naval architect support to investigate causal influences and corrective action.
Key Responsibilities:
* Vessel Design and Stability: Provide drawings of vessels, ports, and their respective interfaces on request, and update vessel drawings as necessary.
* Naval Architecture Support: Conduct inclining experiments and lightship surveys in collaboration with the Fleet Management Department, and update onboard NAPA data.
* Stability Advice: Provide stability advice and assistance to the Emergency Response Support Team, and conduct root cause analysis where necessary.
* Audit and Investigation: Support internal audits and investigations of incidents, and provide independent investigation capacity for issues highlighted by the Fleet Management Department.
Requirements:
* HND/HNC in Naval Architecture or Equivalent: A recognized qualification in naval architecture or a related field is essential for this role.
* Experience in CAD Software: Experience in computer-aided design software and updating and managing technical drawings is required.
* Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, as you will need to work closely with the Fleet Management Department and other stakeholders.
* Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines is crucial for this role.
