The Landscape Foreman is responsible for the installation and management of landscape projects (hard and soft landscape). The Foreman is responsible for completing landscape installations with precision and business-minded efficiency.
Role and Responsibilities
Supervises and manages a landscape team, ensuring:
1. All site staff arrive on time and leave on time.
2. All site staff are correctly dressed in the company uniform.
3. All site staff are aware of their duties for the following day and are prepared the night before.
4. General staff discipline is adhered to.
5. All site staff correctly complete their timesheets and check for accuracy.
6. Report any issues relating to the above to the office/Site Manager.
7. Read and understand contract/architects drawings to ensure construction is completed in line with specifications and standards.
8. Ensure that all landscape installation work is completed in accordance with LDC’s contract with the client.
9. Ensure that all landscape installation work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards.
10. Understand financial aspects of each job assignment.
11. Ensure that each team member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment.
12. Ensure that all Health & Safety rules and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
13. Participate in and conduct all job site safety briefings with team members.
14. Ensure that operations are carried out in line with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
15. Carry out Tool Box Talks appropriate to each job and record all talks completed; TBT records to be submitted to LDC’s H&S Manager.
16. Ensure that all team members utilise all required personal protective equipment.
17. Carry out health surveillance and report findings to LDC’s H&S Manager.
18. Ensure First Aid Kits are replenished as required.
19. Understand and instruct team members on job site security procedures.
20. Ensure equipment is correctly operated and maintained.
21. Keep the designated vehicle clean inside and out and carry out maintenance checks in accordance with manufacturers' warranties.
22. Check all vehicles regularly for damage (including trailers) and take appropriate action, i.e., office notified immediately.
23. Notify the office immediately of any theft of vehicles/trailers/tools/materials.
24. Store equipment & materials tidily in correct/designated locations.
25. Ensure that all site staff have a full set of tools.
26. Follow correct procedures for stock in/out for all items removed.
27. Ensure that the equipment logbook is filled out whenever an item is taken to site and that the item is checked on its return.
28. Ensure that delivery of materials is checked and discrepancies in quantity and quality are reported to Contracts Manager/Buyer.
29. Interact/liaise with clients to help ensure client satisfaction.
30. Participate in all safety training sessions offered and improve job safety skills.
31. Ensure timesheets are recorded accurately and submitted on time.
