We have an exciting 6 month secondment opportunity within the Enfield Mental Health division for Older People's, Inpatient Therapies Team - with potential to move onto our incredible Band 6 OT Mental health rotation programme.

This role will offer you an excellent new challenge, and an opportunity to develop new clinical and managerial skills. We have established a mix of therapies to support our provision of care including OT's, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, technical instructors, an activity coordinator and close working relationships with our physiotherapy colleagues.. You will be supported by the therapy team lead OT and AHP Lead in the division with regular supervision, appraisal and peer support.

Main duties of the job
1. Carrying out home visits and functional assessments to support safe discharge from hospital
2. Prescribing adaptive equipment for patients homes in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey soon to be expanded through the North London Mental Health Partnership
3. Delivery and oversight of the therapeutic programme on the ward
4. Attending ward rounds and CPA meetings
5. Liaising closely with the MDT on the ward
6. Liaising with other colleagues and external agencies such as care coordinators and local authorities
7. Supervision, appraisal and preceptorship for junior OTs and technical instructors
8. Deputising for therapy lead in periods of absence
9. To be involved in QI projects and work closely with carers

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Essential
19. HCPC registered
20. OT Dip/BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy
Desirable
21. Evidence of other relevant postgraduate education
