Audit Manager, Woking – Up to £70k dependent on experience
We’re looking for an Audit Manager to join a brilliant accountancy team in Woking.

They’re now looking for an experienced Audit Manager to lead their growing audit department, to cost-effectively manage all aspects of a portfolio of business clients including the accounting and tax affairs of the related parties within the agreed budgets and timescales. This is an exciting opportunity for an assistant manager or senior looking to progress their career within a supportive and rewarding environment.
This is a hybrid role with the exception of when on-site auditing is required. They’d consider applications from individuals looking for both full-time and part-time opportunities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Effectively communicate with clients to ensure they are fully appraised of their affairs at all times and are made aware of their tax liabilities in a timely manner.
2. Capitalising tax planning opportunities and other services.
3. Meeting statutory deadlines and billing targets.
4. Setting the budget and delivering against it with no unexpected write-offs, identifying where additional work is necessary, and agreeing this with the Relationship Partner and the client before the work is undertaken in accordance with the staff handbook.
5. Being aware of financial exposure and outstanding debts, prior to engaging in additional work.
6. Seeking payment on account where appropriate.
7. Team development and assist with their roles and responsibilities as and when required.
8. Planning and undertaking the accounts preparation work i.e. auditing, corporation tax returns, annual returns, filing accounts with companies house and filing corporation tax returns with the revenue within the agreed timescales.
Minimum Requirements:
1. ACA, ACCA or CA qualification.
2. 3-4 years PQE experience.
3. Prior experience of managing a portfolio of circa £150K upwards of client fees as a manager or assistant manager.
4. Knowledge of accepted auditing and accounting practices and principles.
5. Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential.
7. Knowledge of CaseWare or similar accounting package & commercial bookkeeping packages like Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
8. Professional verbal and written communication skills as well as an excellent telephone manner.
9. Strong communication skills (e.g. the ability to relate to others at all levels of an organisation both internally and externally).
