Brief Description
Duration: 12-month Secondment (Internal Candidate) or 12-month Fixed Term Contract (External Candidate). (Please note, secondments are subject to line manager approval; please discuss this with them before applying).
Location: This role is based in The Quadrant:MK. This role is a full-time opportunity; flexible working patterns will be considered. You must live within 90 minutes of The Quadrant.
Band & Salary: 4B 35,582 - 40,029 pro rata.

About the role (External)

About the team: The Communications function is responsible for presenting a consistent narrative about the company and its strategy. We integrate Network Rail's long-term business strategy with its external stakeholder communications and internal employee engagement.
What does the average day look like? As a business partner, you'll support around 5,000 colleagues who are providing services critical to the running of the railway.
Day to day you'll be responsible for:
1. Helping to deliver Network Rail's communications strategy
2. Supporting the development and implementation of strategic communication plans
3. Delivering high-quality engaging and targeted communications through various channels
4. Giving sound communications advice to colleagues of all levels
5. Championing our writing style: short, clear, warm
Essential Criteria
1. Education to degree level or equivalent qualification or holds a professional qualification in communications or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
2. Proven experience in successfully shaping and delivering key messages to various audiences and meeting their individual needs
3. Ability to provide guidance on communication issues and develop strategies to support business objectives
4. Demonstrable excellent written communications skills
5. Ability to produce accurate and effective content quickly and to deadlines
6. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
7. Excellent attention to detail
8. Demonstrable experience of Office 365 and SharePoint
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience in video recording and editing
2. Experience communicating with harder to reach audiences (not office based)
3. Project or change management experience
4. Customer service and collaborative approach mindset
