We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hackney to assist with the appointment of a Traffic Engineer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.86 - £27.17 per hour
Summary:
The Traffic Engineer will work alongside the Senior Traffic Engineer to manage and deliver a high-quality Traffic and Transport service. This includes overseeing project planning and implementation, ensuring compliance with statutory and legal obligations, and maintaining a customer-focused approach. The role contributes to key objectives of the Council by supporting infrastructure improvements and sustainable transport solutions within the borough.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the Councils Traffic Engineering strategies and statutory functions.
* Ensure compliance with government legislation, council policies, and regulatory standards.
* Assist in or lead the design, consultation, and implementation of traffic and transport schemes.
* Conduct site and traffic surveys, and analyze data for informed decision-making.
* Provide clear and professional advice on traffic and transport issues.
Qualifications:
* Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related discipline (preferred).
Experience:
* Demonstrated experience or understanding of delivering traffic engineering services in an urban context.
* Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
* Experience working directly with customers and stakeholders, with accountability for service quality.
* Experience with consultation, planning, and delivery of engineering schemes (for higher-grade progression).
