Job overview
We are looking for a Quality Information Analyst to join the Health Exemption Services team who will be responsible for extracting, analysing and presenting complex data to internal and external customers, tailoring outputs to the diverse needs of different audiences and providing advice and insight to support business decisions. The post holder will be expected to deliver analytical products required to support the reporting of management information and insight alongside producing and maintaining the reporting suite that delivers quality information to the services above.
Flexible working arrangements are part of the role, and the role can be worked from home or in the office. The successful individuals can be based in Newcastle. There may be a requirement on occasion to work from the office.

Main duties of the job
As a Quality Information Analyst within HCS, you will be responsible for:
1. Extracting, analysing and presenting complex data to internal and external customers
2. Tailoring data outputs to diverse needs of different audiences
3. Providing advice and insight to support business decisions
4. Delivery of analytical products for reporting management information and insight
5. Producing and maintaining the reporting suite that delivers quality information to all of HCS
6. Supporting analytical tasks for the wider NHSBSA, if required

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
In this role, you are accountable for:
1. Ability to handle large datasets with a clear understanding of how to clean, process, analyse, and visualise data.
2. Responsible for the access and development of systems to collect, collate, analyse and retain all forms of quality, financial and management information.
3. Deliver a high quality information and analysis service to support and underpin information needs.
4. Conduct advanced analysis, interpretation and presentation of complex data and information to support decision making and make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies for Citizen Services and, when requested, the wider business and external customers. To use data derived from analysis of systems to provide customer insight and feedback in order to create improvements.
5. Ability to use business tools to interrogate, analyse and present data in an effective and informative manner.
6. Build fully documented analysis, reports and dashboards for use by external customers to required specifications. Ensure that accompanying notes and definitions are regularly reviewed and updated where appropriate.
7. Decide on the best methodology to analyse, investigate and resolve complex analytical queries or problems where there is a range of solutions or analyses.
8. Communicates complex and at times sensitive data and analysis effectively at all levels to both technical and non-technical audiences both verbally and in writing. Ensuring the information provided is accessible and understandable to a wide audience and conforms to high standards.
9. Plan and organise own workload and manage activities or projects requiring formulation or adjustment.
10. Delivers timely and targeted suite of reports in a robust method, which analyse trends over time, shows comparisons of data and encompasses appropriate statistical methods and forecasts of performance. Ensures the accurate delivery of all commentary which forms part of quality information.
11. Produces fully documented information and analysis to satisfy both routine and ad hoc reports to senior management and other business areas when required, in line with business needs. This includes being responsible for ensuring action of forwarded requests relating to Freedom of Information, Parliamentary Questions and Subject Access Requests from the governance team.
12. Provide analyses to support development and refinement of metrics and reports to highlight trends, identify outlier behaviours within the data sets and risks within NHS services.
13. Represents the organisation as a data/business expert with internal and external customers. Provides ad-hoc support to the management team, where specialist skills/input is required.
14. Maintain and adapt the web-based electronic reporting system environment in line with customer requirements.
15. Supports training and advice across the relevant services in relation to the appropriate usage and understanding of quality information.
16. Ensure the integrity of the data and all reports and information requests are quality checked in conjunction with business experts and statisticians, where appropriate.
17. Works collaboratively with a diverse range of customers/users within the Organisation, the NHS and external organisations to define and develop new information products, enhance existing information provision and support target monitoring work.
18. Make use of available IT to automate tasks where appropriate.
