Trainees will work within their own limitations and contribute to the smooth and effective running of the Plaster Room. Trainees will work under the direct supervision of the management team and work in compliance with local policies and procedures. Workload will be allocated from clinics, Accident and Emergency and theatres and the extent of this will differ daily. Therefore it is important to be able to manage a caseload of patients, while ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of resources. This role involves working across three sites to cover the needs and demands of the service therefore a degree of flexibility is required. Communication is an integral part of this role. Complex information will be received from Consultants and communicating with patients by providing advice pertaining to their fracture and casting management and to enable them to manage their own care needs. Documentation is paramount within this role, therefore interpreting and recording information accurately into patient notes to ensure the correct care is given and acted upon on in future is important as well as a knowledge of the IT systems
