Role: Early Years Practitioner SEN 1:1 support worker
Fixed term contract for immediate start until 19th July 2018
Hours: 12 hours a week Term Time
Days and hours: Tuesday 9.00 – 12.00, Wednesday 9.00 – 3.00, Friday 9.00 – 12.00
CLOSING DATE: 15th March 2018
An exciting, varied and fulfilling role within a Pre-School setting employed as a SEN 1:1 support worker. You will assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the child to whom you are assigned, enabling him/her to make the best use of the educational opportunities available to them. As part of a team, you will deliver high-quality play and learning opportunities through a wide range of activities. You will communicate well with young children, parents, and carers and have a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
General duties and responsibilities:
1. SEN 1:1 support worker working alongside an individual child supporting them with their individual targets and general learning and development needs.
2. Contribute towards reviews and observations of the child’s progress as appropriate.
3. Work as part of a team supporting other Pre-School staff.
4. Ensure the smooth running of the Pre-School by adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
5. Use your knowledge, experience, and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities.
6. Support the serving of refreshments to the child you are assigned to and oversee lunchtimes.
7. Attend training and keep up-to-date with changes to welfare requirements, planning for children’s learning, and safeguarding procedures.
8. Any other duties reasonably required by the Pre-school Manager.
