Our client, based in Coventry, is currently recruiting for a Recovery Worker on a 12-week temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis. The hourly rate being offered is £17.50 per hour via an Umbrella Company.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable service users with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, and hold an Enhanced DBS taken out within the last year.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Carry out triage assessments with clients experiencing problematic alcohol and/or substance misuse issues.
2. Triage assessment and onward referral to a range of treatment/community support agencies.
3. Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral.
4. Maintaining and monitoring the referral spreadsheet to ensure that clients are given the appropriate appointment as quickly as possible.
5. Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
6. Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
7. Liaise with external agencies such as health services, hospitals, and GP.
8. Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.
Experience required:
1. Experience working with those with complex needs including substance misuse.
2. An excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
3. Experience of working in an outcomes-focused environment.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
1. Time management skills and an ability to work on own initiative.
2. Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies.
3. Knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
Working hours:
22.50 hours per week, between the hours of 9am till 5pm Monday – Friday.
