SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products.
We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager, who will increase sales with our specialist brickwork contractors through existing Trading Agreements, relationships with Main contractors and new contacts across the UK predominantly within London and the surrounding areas.
What does the role involve?
As Business Development Manager, you will proactively drive sales on our range of products through achieving area sales targets, developing customers and product range and managing key accounts, to target and develop new existing customer sales opportunities for assigned products. You will also assume responsibility for delivering sales budgets of assigned products within applicable territory and will be expected to provide expert knowledge and technical support to customers, as well as internal and external colleagues.
The successful candidate will also negotiate pricing and agree pricing policies for assigned products which ensures sales and margin growth while also monitoring and reviewing sales and margin across assigned products regularly, addressing shortfalls and areas of concern, whilst highlighting areas of opportunity to the business.
The successful candidate will require:
Experience within the Masonry part of the construction industry, including specialist knowledge of masonry support and brickwork sundries
Close contacts within specialist brickwork contractors in SE England
Proven track record in delivering results and financial targets
Strong decision-making ability
Successful sales management experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the role of an effective sales function and best practices.
Strong IT skills including CRM and Excel
Strong understanding of project tracking and construction build process.
Educated to degree level (desirable, but not essential with relevant experience)
