Lamb Weston is a recognised supplier of quality potato products and are well established in the UK with a manufacturing facility in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. A role has arisen for the position of Seed Potato Supply Manager within the potato supply team. This role is to manage and develop the supply of seed, to ware potato growers who supply our facility in Wisbech. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) Supporting variety development within the UK in partnership with European colleagues to select new varieties that support customer, manufacturing and grower demands. 2) Develop the agronomy of all varieties in the Lamb Weston UK portfolio to drive sustainable production of the potato crop. 3) Support and develop the supply chain of mini-tubers to seed-for-ware production across the UK with commercial partners, contract seed growers and seed houses. 4) Assess seed quality and quantities to manage and ensure suitable tonnages of seed potatoes are available for both long and short-term delivery for the supply chain. 5) Work closely with our logistics partners in haulage and storage to ensure just in time delivery of seed to the ware grower base at planting. 6) Support the wider potato supply team with the monitoring and management of crops in field and storage across our growing regions for delivery to the manufacturing facility at Wisbech. This is an exciting opportunity for a person with a keen interest in potatoes. Required: • A knowledge of the potato crop • Valid UK driving licence • Proficient in use of the Office 365 Suite with a focus on data management in Microsoft Excel Desirable • FACTS/BASIS – this is preferred but training will be supported for the right candidate as they grow into the role. An office environment is available at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, but due to the nature of the role, this is a remote working position. Travel to seed suppliers and partner growers in Scotland and Yorkshire as well as to ware growers in East Anglia, East Midlands and Herefordshire will be required periodically throughout the season.
