At an exciting stage of the school’s journey, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational leader who is committed to making a difference to the lives of our students and who has a real passion for English. The successful applicant will have high expectations and will be a reflective practitioner who is always keen to develop and improve their teaching. They will appreciate their role in helping our students to have high aspirations, and they will share our belief that our students deserve an exceptional curriculum and the very best teaching. The successful candidate will lead an agreed key-stage, as well as other leadership and teaching development across the department.
Students enjoy studying English at The Forest Academy. We have recently updated our curriculum to ensure that it fully aligns with our CALIBRE curriculum framework, and department meetings are rooted in developing the expertise of our staff. The English department has a strong collaborative culture which makes it an exciting learning environment with staff that have a passion and drive to share excellent lessons and learning experiences with TFA students. This role is crucial for our students and will be pivotal in helping them to have high aspirations and to achieve at the highest level.

We are seeking a leader who can build on existing excellence, support staff development, and ensure students acquire the core knowledge and skills necessary to thrive, while maintaining manageable workloads for all staff.
