We are recruiting an Industrial Painter for our client in Manchester; this is a temp to perm role.
As an Industrial Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for the preparation of surfaces and applying paint to various materials using a spray gun. As a Spray Painter, you must have a keen eye for detail and be able to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary.
2. Select and mix paint colours to match specifications.
3. Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun.
4. Ensure that paint is applied evenly and without drips or runs.
5. Monitor drying times and make adjustments as necessary.
6. Clean and maintain spray guns and other equipment.
7. Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
8. Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed.
9. Properly contain hazardous waste generated from normal paint shop operations.
10. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
11. Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
12. Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure that customer orders are completed on time and to the required standard.
Desired Qualities/Qualifications
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Proven experience as an Industrial Spray Painter or similar role.
2. Knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
3. Ability to mix and match paint colours to achieve desired results.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills.
7. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time.
8. Experience with using lifting equipment / overhead cranes.
Experience:
Essential: Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in an Engineering Environment as a trained Paint Sprayer.
Desirable: 5+ years’ experience within an Engineering environment.
Skills, Training or Special Knowledge:
Essential: Knowledge of Spray Painting Processes, Knowledge of PPE / HSE requirements for operating Spray painting equipment.
Highly Desirable: Experience with overhead cranes.
Qualifications:
Essential: Practical training in an Industrial Paint Spraying function.
Desirable: Level 3 (NVQ) Industrial Paint Occupations.
