Our client, a manufacturing company in the Ellesmere Port area, are looking for a Mechanically trained Maintenance Engineer. Roles are permanent and will pay £41,800 per annum + OT. Looking to start ASAP following successful 1 stage interview process and walk round of the plant.
Hours of Work:
Week 1: Monday to Friday 6.00am - 2.30pm
Week 2: Monday to Thursday 2.30pm to 10.30pm Friday 1-8pm (40 hours)
The role will involve the installation, maintenance, improvement and repair of all plant and equipment ensuring production efficiency can be met within a safe well-presented facility. Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
Main Duties:
* Attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve, with minimal downtime to production.
* Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance, and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service.
* Ensure all maintenance work is carried out with due regard to the safety of employees adhering to relevant regulations.
* Provide reactive and planned maintenance.
* Report breakdown causes, equipment faults and concerns to management.
* Assist with the moving & installation of new machines and equipment.
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules as necessary.
* Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
* Complete Daily Maintenance job sheets and Preventative Maintenance records.
* To help build and maintain a cost-effective spare parts store.
Essential Criteria:
* Must be a qualified, mechanically trained engineer, with previous working experience gained in a Production/manufacturing environment carrying out reactive maintenance.
* Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical Engineering.
* Experience of working with bearings, gearboxes, chains, conveyors, packaging equipment, palletisers, motors and there is also some hydraulic/pneumatic equipment on site.
* Some basic electrical fault-finding skills would also be beneficial.
* A minimum of two years' post apprenticeship experience.
* Must have the ability to work on their own initiative and be a confident decision maker.
* Must be a flexible individual as some overtime working will be required.
