Early Years Assistant - Fixed term until 26/6/2025
Broomhouse Primary School
Salary: £24,909 - £25,116 (pro rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 10 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday - 2.5 hours per day (11.30 am - 2.00 pm)
Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively as a member of the early years team within the early years provision.
2. Assist in meeting the educational, care, and welfare needs of all children, ensuring those with additional support needs can effectively access the curriculum.
3. Be flexible and assist in carrying out general clerical duties as required in support of children's learning.
4. Provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the School/Early Years Centre as directed by the Head Teacher/Head of Centre or nominated staff.
Requirements:
There is a requirement to be registered with SSSC or equivalent and gain an SVQ level 2 qualification within 5 years. Early Years Assistants are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment. They must also achieve an SCQF Level 2 Social Services for Children and Young People qualification within 5 years of being registered with the SSSC, which is funded by the early years service. Opportunities for progression to SCQF Level 3 with funding will be available.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
