For a January 2025 or September 2025 starter, we seek to appoint a specialist, qualified Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo, formerly SENCo) for The Sixth Form Centre, Guernsey. From September 2025 The Sixth Form Centre will become a new, standalone centre located at La Mare de Carteret. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to be part of the founding Senior Leadership Team of Guernsey's new Sixth Form Centre, designing and embedding systems and processes to support our Post 16 learners.
The States of Guernsey is currently undergoing a period of reorganisation in secondary and post-16 education. Currently Les Beaucamps, La Mare de Carteret, St Sampson’s, and Les Varendes High School and Sixth Form Centre are the four States’ secondary schools in Guernsey. The schools form the Secondary School Partnership which is led by a unified Executive Leadership Team.
The reorganisation will see further development of the Secondary School Partnership and the reorganisation of the current educational estate into three 11-16 schools and a new purpose-built Sixth Form Centre. This will form part of a post 16 campus co-located with the Guernsey Institute.
