Purchasing Assistant
The Role
This is a full time position based at the Lichfield Road Industrial Estate in Tamworth.
The successful candidate will be required to be on site from Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and working within a busy Purchasing and Customer Service Team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to take ownership of the role.
Key Duties would include:
* Placing and progressing purchase orders
* Checking confirmations, pricing, delivery information, etc
* Booking freight
* Liaising with warehouses
* Checking specifications and maintaining the system that is in place
* Booking in stock
* Interacting with Team members and Supply Partners to ensure appropriate information is shared
* Assisting with holiday cover within the team
* Duties are not limited to the above and the role may alter depending on experience.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
* Have relevant experience of a similar role
* Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
* Have exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under own initiative
* Be able to adhere to strict deadlines
* Have a good understanding of Maths, English and IT skills
* Be eager to learn and develop new skills
