Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a % of the top of Band 7 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 7 scale.
The Role
The Advanced Practitioner/Trainee Advanced Practitioner will work autonomously in the Acute Service within the well-established, dynamic and progressive Medicine for Older Adults team, covering seven days including public holidays. They will be responsible for independent clinical decision-making for a complex population including assessment and treatments. The Advanced Practitioner/Trainee Advanced Practitioner will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and families to ensure person-centred care with excellent communication skills underpinning this role. The Advanced Practitioner provides advanced clinical assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patients, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care. A clinical supervisor will be allocated to the successful candidate to support the achievement of academic and clinical competence.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
3. Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within a speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
5. Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality.
6. Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
7. Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
8. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality including study days/courses/post-graduate qualification.
9. The post holder will possess excellent teamwork/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
10. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology.

13. Experience in delivering education/training
14. Expert practice in the speciality and evidence of relevant continued professional development/qualification within the speciality
15. Experience working with critically ill/high acuity patients.
16. Evidence of working at Charge Nurse / Senior Charge Nurse Level
17. Evidence of personal contribution to service planning and redesign projects.
18. Understanding of clinical management pathways
19. Ability to demonstrate understanding of quality improvement/research and audit.
20. Advanced Assessment skills.
21. Evidence of practising advanced clinical skills (NIV/ ECG interpretation/ABG etc)
