What's involved with this role: Role: National Projects Planner Job Ref: QAD 2618/1001 Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate Hours per week: 37 hours Contract Length: until October 2025 Location: Loughborough This role is predominantly remote working 90% - ideally candidates would live locally to Loughborough and Bisham Marlow in Berkshire to attend the office to to meet the team. The position is to cover maternity leave for a Planner post. The role offers a varied mix of development management, strategic planning, and national projects. Key accountabilities: Proactively manage a caseload of statutory and selective non statutory planning applications, responding within the designated timeframe, carrying out negotiations with local authorities and developers as appropriate and ensuring that the Planning Information Management System (PIMS) is kept up to date. Respond to local plan and other policy/strategic planning documents within the designated time frame. Proactively work with selective local authorities in developing a needs and evidence base for sport and recreation, offering advice on tools and techniques such as the Facilities Planning Model, Active Places Power and Playing Pitch Methodology Proactively contribute to national planning work to help drive forward innovation, efficiencies and deliver improved planning guidance and tools. Key requirements: Under-graduate degree in Planning (RTPI recognised course) or post graduate degree or diploma in planning (RTPI recognised course) Experience of working in a local planning authority, private sector consultancy or other relevant agency in such areas as policy development, regeneration, or development. Previous experience of contributing to policy and strategy preparation, such as local development plan. Previous experience in using multiple data sets, tools and techniques to support the production of robust strategies. Knowledge of and ability to apply Planning Law. Experience of using Geographical Information Systems and associated data analysis (desirable).
