Job overview
We are looking for a band 8a Radiology Informatics and PACS manager to join our imaging department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.
The main responsibilities include:
* Leading on all elements of radiology informatics, alongside the deputy PACS manager, PACS team and IT project manager.
* Supporting and leading on the PACS system, RIS system and order comms.
* Opportunities to work across three sites with flexible working arrangements considered.
The purpose of this post is to be an effective member of the Radiography team, a member of the senior team, to provide a high standard of radiographic services to Radiologists, patients and service users.
There will be an expectation to supervise junior staff and students.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of Radiological images 24hrs a day, seven days a week across the Trust.
* Lead and develop the Radiology Informatics/PACS Team.
* Be responsible for communications and effective working relationships between Trust Radiology, IT department and vendors to ensure the availability of Radiological images and reports throughout the Trust.

Person specification
Education and qualifications:
* IT training or competency-based qualification.
* BSc Radiography (or equivalent).
* Health Professions Council (HPC) Registration.
* Post graduate master’s qualification in Radiography or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of professional development.
Knowledge:
* In depth knowledge and experience of managing Radiology Informatics systems – including PACS, RIS, Order Comms, CERNER, IEP or equivalent systems.
* Experience of procurement of Radiology Informatics solutions.
* Radiology IT Business continuity and unplanned/planned downtimes procedures and processes.
Experience:
* In depth knowledge of Radiology Workflows in a busy, multi-site Trust.
* Experience with clinical audit.
* Experience of training users, from a range of professions.
* Strong evidenced experience working within Radiology Informatics industrial, either NHS or private healthcare.
* Experience of working as a senior member of multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of representing the Trust in Regional/National forums.
* Previous teaching experience in a specialised modality and/or relevant post graduate qualification for example, NVQ assessor, mentoring.
