Hours of Work: Breakfast Club: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 9am
After School Club: Monday - Friday, 3pm - 6pm.
Will consider a variety of days and shift lengths.
Positions offered as Term Time Only or All Year Round*.
*Your contract will run 52 weeks of the year, with 5.6 weeks of paid annual leave (including public and bank holidays) given on a pro-rata basis. Outside of term time, the equivalent of your contracted weekly hours will need to be worked at one of our Holiday Camp locations.
We are looking for nurturing, enthusiastic and reliable individuals who have previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
A Level 3 Early Years Qualification is desirable but not essential. Training opportunities will be offered.
Job Purpose:
To support the Foundation Age/Early Years children that attend our Breakfast & After School Club.
• To supervise groups of children and run activities as directed by the supervisor e.g. arts/crafts activities or sporting activities depending on experience
• To work within a team of coaches and playworkers to facilitate the activities to promote enjoyment and play of all children attending the club or camp, taking into account their different needs
• To ensure safeguarding policies are followed
• To ensure risk assessments and health and safety policies are adhered to
• To support and demonstrate fair and acceptable behaviour in the club or camp, promoting respect, tolerance and social skills
• To communicate appropriately with parents and visitors
• To ensure activities are run in accordance with the company’s expectations and opportunities are created to enhance language, communication and basic literacy and numeracy skills
• To ensure the club setting is kept clean and hygienic throughout the duration of the club under the direction of the club supervisor

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Knowledge/Qualifications:
• Level 3 Early Years Qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential
• Good standard of general education e.g. GCSE English, Mathematics minimum Grade C
Skills/Abilities:
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with children
• Good observation skills
• Understanding of open-ended questioning
• Understanding of their role to assist and supervise pupils on particular tasks and the expected outcome of individual activities within the allocated timescale
• Confidentiality at all times
• Willingness to develop their own understanding of Child Development/ Playwork/ Coaching through training
• Work well within a team to promote positive outcomes for children
Experience:
Some experience of working with children in a school or play setting is essential.
