Working hours: 20 hours per week working Monday - Thursday evenings Interview Date: Either enter the date or To be confirmed Catterick Salvation Army is looking for a Catering Assistant to to assist in the safe and efficient operation of the kitchen area and the “front of house” part of the centre, working as part of a team to fulfil the following roles as listed under the kitchen and counter duties. You will: - Set up the cafe, take orders, serve customers, and maintain hygiene standards. Be enthusiastic with excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team Maintain all areas including the tables to a tidy, clean and hygienic standard, ensuring tables are cleared and cleaned promptly. Prepare hot food and cold sandwiches as per the orders Keep the dishwashing area clean and tidy, free from excess dirty crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils coming from the counter If this is you, we’d love to hear from you relevant health and safety requirements and procedures Experience of using cleaning equipment Ability to monitor stock of cleaning materials and recognise their usage so new stock can be ordered Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and on their own initiative Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including the ability to move chairs / tables / equipment as required Ability to work as part of a team to ensure the overall aims of The Salvation Army – Canterbury are achieved.
