Job summary
Due to successful promotion within the NHS, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to lead the clinical pharmacy Haematology service at Hampshire Hospitals. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team which has recently been awarded the Clinical Service Excellence award on both our treatment sites by MyelomaUK.
The Haematology pharmacist will be working with a team of clinical pharmacists within Cancer services and band 7 - 8 progression could be considered for an advanced pharmacist looking to progress.
The postholder will be offered development of specialist knowledge and skills for the management of patients with haemato-oncology as part of the Cancer Services MDT and wider Wessex Cancer Network. The successful candidate will also be supported to evidence their practice using the Advanced Pharmacist Framework.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for leading and developing the clinical pharmacy service for Haematology patients, for both inpatients and outpatients, working alongside other pharmacists working in Cancer services.
Close liaison with the Pharmacy Aseptics, Clinical Trials and Outpatient teams, clinical teams and operations managers will be essential to ensure that the needs of the patients treated within the service are met in a safe, cost-effective and timely manner.
As a specialist pharmacist, the postholder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with commissioned frameworks, FOC and EAMS agreements, and FOI requests.
