Responsible for the Trust's Security Governance and support function (planning, designing, configuration and deployment management, maintenance, 2nd line support), technologies, and processes for those used in 1st and 2nd line support to ensure availability and consistency of use for the end user. Providing input to strategic direction of Network & Security technology and leadership to a team of specialist Security Analysts.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining effective technical solutions, in line with ITIL standards and internal SLAs, to meet Trust requirements. This includes the implementation of network and security related technologies and ensuring.
Responsible for technical verification of the Network Managed service a network related area of the Cloud, on-site datacentres.
Act as CISCO Network SME for the team and projects.
In addition, the job-holder will support the Barts Health security and cloud strategies, ensuring a consistent and value driven technology solutions.
Main duties of the job
Work with the network managed service (NMS) to ensure continued operation including; technical review of designs, changes and service management of the NMS.
Proactively monitor and review the network managed service and assure NMS supplier security quality (in line with Security Management best practice, contractual agreements, and industry standards).
Analyse, investigate and troubleshoot to complex IT requests, problems and issues. Lead on problem management, identifying root causes to problems and recommending permanent fixes and workarounds, and make judgements on multi-stranded or complex ICT problems which may have no precedent or where there are conflicting opinions.
Develop and apply specialist knowledge in ICT Networking and Security technologies including management systems, and act as the in-house expert with regard to implementing technical and high-performance solutions, making the environment safe, providing high resilience, best management practice and operational delivery.
Coach and mentor team members, and promote a growing, transformative ICT culture.
Support, as required, the diagnosis, identification and resolution of faults relating to the network infrastructure ensuring that the appropriate remediation and escalation plans are developed and implemented.

Lead on projects which introduce new technologies or security solutions into the Trust, and plan projects so as to cause minimal disruption across clinical and non-clinical areas. This includes product evaluation, product proof of concept testing and scoping requirements for NMS or suppliers to deliver.

* Significant experience working in a large organisation providing services (over 5,000 users) with proven network and security systems experience
* Significant experience of managing complex technical development projects involving integration of multiple systems
* Experience in working with a network managed service
* Demonstrable budgetary management experience
Skills
* Able to monitor and liaise with different IT teams to ensure they have completed cyber security related activities and hold them to account.
* Ability to think strategically, plan and implement change effectively
* Excellent planning (short and longer term) and organisational skills. Plan and organise broad range of complex activities, adjusts plans or strategies as necessary
Knowledge
* Significant technical knowledge of CISCO SDA Networks, Configuration and Support

Qualifications
* Educated to masters level or equivalent
* Professional IT networking qualifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent experience

* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills suitable for a range of audiences, including chairing of meetings.
