A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF SALES AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY What you'll be doing Reporting to the Commercial Director you can expect your working day to include the following Set up and manage a defined list of corporate accounts to include prospecting new business, managing and maintaining existing accounts to grow performance and increase market share. Ensure accurate and thorough updates of all account information following meetings, correspondence, business trips and client entertainment. Analyze historical and other statistical information (market segmentation, business diversity, current partnership deals) to penetrate your given market segment. Conduct sales calls, interviews/presentations and ongoing account assessments to maximise revenue growth. Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute sales campaigns, promotions, and packages. Lead the strategy for securing and managing meetings, conferences, and events (MICE), ensuring high-quality service delivery. Monitor sales performance and analyse market trends to identify opportunities for growth. Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for the executive team, showcasing sales activities, pipeline, and performance. Entertaining executives, PAs and travel managers at existing and future potential companies to secure future revenue for the hotel. Organisation and attendance of familiarisation trips and hotel site inspections for clients. Planning and executing sales trips to assigned territories as directed and defined in hotel’s sales plan. Calls to include decision-makers, influencers, and bookers. Attending Marriott and trade functions as needed to promote sales and image for the hotel. Lead, mentor, and motivate the Sales and Meetings & Events team to achieve their individual and team targets. Following guidelines, use Marriott tools and ensure a structured way of working. Staying up to date with latest sales trends, Marriott campaigns and best practices. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements To succeed in the role Director of Sales you will need the following qualities and skills. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Director of Sales in a London 5-star hotel Good experience of managing & developing strong relationships with key corporate clients and agencies within the MICE & Groups industry. Prior experience of generating and developing account leads, contracting accounts, proposals and account management to increase production. Excellent knowledge of the UK market.
