An exciting opportunity has become available for a Public Realm Officer. This position is strictly an outdoor position. It requires individuals with operational excellence, superb customer service, critical thinking skills, and best practices. The Public Realm Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the external areas of the contract. This includes a Retail area, and the new tube entrance. Public Realm Officers play an integral role in the 24/7 operations of this new public space that’s destined to completely revive the Paddington area, both above and below ground, with a mix of shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. Note: This is a physically demanding role, it is an external patrolling/standing position. Information: Position: Public Realm Officer Location: London (W2) Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour Hours: Average 42 hours per week Shifts: 4 on 4 off – Days & Nights Job Role: SIA Door Supervisor License. Minimum of 2 years security experience. Able to be both diplomatic and robust in their approach with the public and can make decisions and act in accordance with both CIS and the client values. Be physically fit and able to patrol on foot, outdoors for the duration of each shift. Experience of security risk assessment, physical security planning Time management & Organizational skills. Excellent personal presentation. Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including report writing, and conflict management. Basic IT knowledge. Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Have a calm personality capable of controlling difficult situations. Be confident you are able to undertake 100% of all specific duties. Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information?requested. Job Responsibilities: Liaise and maintain good customer service relationships with site staff, visitors, customers, members of the public and senior security management team. To manage an effective working relationship with all, whilst representing the site and CIS-Security. Detect, Disrupt & Deter offenders and take appropriate enforcement action where required. Work in partnership with Local Service providers: Police, Intelligence Units, Crime Reduction and Community Safety Partnerships. Provide a reduction in the fear of crime and improved reassurance through committed public liaison by attending various Council, Police, and public meetings in relation to this role when required. Provide education and awareness-based patrols in the publicly accessible domain, to manage ASB, prevent crime and other forms of nuisance on our client’s defined area. Gather information and intelligence for directed and further action against offenders, share information and facilitate cross-sector liaisons. Carry out any tasks and report back as directed or instructed by the client. Assist in Security investigations into loss, damage or other incidents affecting property, visitors, or staff. Conflict resolution and dealing with members of the public in a respectful and mindful manner.
