As we expand, we are seeking a People Advisor to join our People Team and contribute to this exciting phase of growth at Bristol Airport.
Reporting to our Senior HR Business Partner, the People Advisor will deliver a prompt and effective HR and Payroll administration and advisory services to our organization. This role includes managing our in-house HR Information System (HRIS) and other related systems to foster a positive employee experience at Bristol Airport.
As the primary point of contact for colleagues regarding all people-related inquiries, we are looking for a candidate with experience in cloud-based HR systems who is eager to take ownership of the HR system while promoting continuous improvement. This position is ideal for someone with a background in Payroll and HR Advisory roles, who is dedicated to providing an exceptional standard of service to both internal and external stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
People Services
1. First point of contact for all colleagues on People related matters - advise and support managers in consistently applying People policies, systems and processes. Escalating where appropriate.
2. Support the Line managers in proactively managing absence and attrition utilising the HRIS, ensuring Occupational Health and Wellbeing support is considered as and when necessary.
3. Provide administrative support in employee relations cases and minute-taking during relevant meetings.
4. Contribute and revision to the development of People Team policies and procedures, focusing on best practices and employment law compliance.
5. Updating and maintaining the HR database with all employee lifecycle information along with providing scheduled and ad hoc reporting, as and when required. Ensuring the system is audited regularly to confirm data is correct and up to date.
6. Continuously improvement to all areas of People and Payroll tasks and systems to improve efficiencies, accuracy and productivity within the department.
7. Prepare, produce and provide documentation relating to employment matters such as promotions, job changes, references, benefits, and pay to ensure accurate records are maintained.
8. Conduct, collate and report on exit interviews with all leavers and report any relevant feedback.
9. Produce relevant ER/People related metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis when appropriate.
Payroll
1. Ensure timely and accurate updates of employee records in the HR & Payroll system and employee files.
2. Support the timely and accurate processing of pay for all employees on a monthly basis, including new starters, leavers, contractual changes, benefits adjustments, salary sacrifice, and voluntary deductions.
3. Produce people and payroll monthly and annual processes for all employees on a yearly basis to improve employee engagement and compliance.
4. Liaising with external partners for payroll and benefit purposes, processing employee documentation and providing relevant information required for the successful processing of payroll and benefits, including auditing the pay-run each month to ensure payroll is ran as smoothly and effectively as possible.
5. Successfully identifying and resolving HR System or payroll issues.
6. Supporting Finance, People Team, H&S and IT with providing information and reporting for regular audits in accordance with SLA’s.
7. Using Dynamix 365 to process People Team invoices as and when required, whilst liaising with the Procurement Department to set up new suppliers on the system if required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
1. Experience in a generalist HR and Payroll Advisor role – CIPD Level 3 qualification as a minimum.
2. Excellent IT skills in MS Word, Excel including using VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
3. Strong administration skills and strong attention to detail.
4. Experience working with cloud-based HR systems and will relish the opportunity to ‘own’ the system and ensure that we are getting all of the benefits that we can from it.
5. Champions change and improvements actively making suggestions to improve and streamline process developments and improve processes.
6. Good planning and time management ability with ability to prioritise effectively.
7. Payroll-related experience and ideally a payroll qualification.
Desirable
1. Payroll qualification or equivalent experience in employee lifecycle payroll and benefits tasks.
2. Experience of payroll for 500 + employees and implementing HRIS/Payroll systems.
3. In depth knowledge of Payroll and the legislation and tax relevant to both payroll and Pension schemes.
