Role Description We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Graduate Engineer to join our Engineering Asset Management team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with large Facilities Management companies, providing bespoke engineering reporting, analytical insights, and contributing to project management activities within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Graduate Engineer will support the development and maintenance of asset hierarchies, create criticality matrices, and help manage the mechanical and electrical surveying team to ensure that critical asset data flows efficiently for enhanced decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: Asset Lifecycle & End-of-Life Reporting: Support the creation and maintenance of detailed reports on end-of-life assets, assisting with the management of asset data to facilitate proactive decision-making and strategic planning.
Critical System & Failure Analysis: Contribute to the identification and reporting of single points of failure (SPOF) to ensure operational continuity.
Assist in analysing critical systems and providing recommendations for maintenance strategies.
Critical Spares Reporting: Support the development and reporting of critical spares inventory for facilities management clients to minimize downtime and ensure quick recovery from asset failures.
Maintenance Strategy Development: Aid in the development of business-focused maintenance strategies tailored to clients’ needs, optimizing the balance between cost efficiency and operational reliability.
Engineering Analytics: Assist with the creation of bespoke engineering analytics, delivering actionable insights to improve asset performance, enhance facility operations, and support long-term planning.
Asset Hierarchy & Criticality Matrix Creation: Contribute to the development and maintenance of asset hierarchies and criticality matrices, ensuring that asset data is categorized and prioritized accurately to align with client operational goals.
Project Management of Surveying Team: Assist in managing the mechanical and electrical surveying team, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate reporting from surveys to analytical outputs.
Coordinate activities to ensure that project timelines and client requirements are met effectively.
Collaboration & Client Communication: Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both internal teams and clients, helping to drive improvements in asset management strategies and maintenance practices.
Continuous Improvement: Work alongside senior engineers to identify and implement process improvements in asset reporting, data flow, and project management systems.
Proactively suggest solutions for more efficient workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Educational Background: A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen interest in engineering data, asset management, and process improvement.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering software and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, CAD, or similar software) for reporting, data analysis, and asset management.
Project Management Skills: Ability to assist in the coordination and project management of teams, ensuring that workflows are streamlined and deadlines are met.
Some familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting to clients and internal teams.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in working with asset data and creating reports, ensuring that information is consistent and reliable.
Team Player: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, able to work across various departments to facilitate smooth project execution.
Motivation & Initiative: Eagerness to learn and grow within the asset management field, and the initiative to drive improvements in reporting and project management processes.
Desirable Skills: Experience in Facilities Management, Asset Management, or Engineering Surveying.
Familiarity with criticality analysis, asset hierarchies, and maintenance strategies.
Exposure to project management methodologies or tools such as MS Project, Asana, or Trello.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, particularly within large facilities.
