Senior Chemist required on a permanent basis, based in Lancashire. Requiring a degree in Chemistry (or similar) and recent, proven industrial experience of formulating and analysing products (ideally within the construction industry), as well as planning and delivering development projects.

SRG are working with a global business who specialise in the development and production of construction products. Due to a recent restructuring, they are now seeking to hire a Senior Chemist to join their technical team. This role will involve overseeing innovative projects to support in expanding the business' reach into new and existing markets. As a Senior Chemist, the successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying opportunities, support in developing and analysing products and combining a strong technical experience with a focus on market-driven innovation. Ideal candidates will have recent, proven industrial experience of formulating and analysing products (ideally within the construction industry) whilst also having experience or an interest in managing and delivering development projects.

Role/Description
1. Plan the activities assigned and organise the daily program, carrying out the pending test for the ongoing projects
2. Develop products defining with the Laboratory Manager the formulation targets, keeping in mind the targets defined for the project
3. Collect and analyse results, sharing them with the other people involved in the projects or laboratory activities
4. Follow the industrialization and validation phases for the products
5. Take initiative in the organisation of update meetings with Laboratory Manager, Product Marketing, Quality Control in order to discuss the updates, results obtained and possible follow-up strategy for the projects in which they are involved
6. Keep the project documentation constantly updated, tracking every phase of the laboratory activities
7. Deal with the maintenance of the laboratory spaces, to ensure the performances and the cleaning of the laboratory instruments
Requirements
1. Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
2. Recent, proven industrial experience of development/formulation work of products, ideally within the construction and DIY sector
3. Experience of analysing products is also desirable
4. Recent, proven industrial experience of planning/delivering/managing projects
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise
