Barrack Lane has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced/newly qualified physician associate (PA) to join our team on a full-time basis working five days a week. Although you will be employed by Barrack Lane and Ivry Street PCN you will be based at Barrack Lane. The role will offer the post-holder the opportunity to build on their experience of working effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, as well as developing positive new working relationships across organisational and professional boundaries. The main responsibilities of the role include: To work under the supervision and support of the doctors providing direct clinical care for patients, including clinical assessments, diagnoses and treatment. Have direct contact with patients, taking a medical history and carrying out medical examinations. To diagnose, analyse a variety of test results and deliver treatment. Provide home visits following triage. Complete thorough, timely and accurate patient records. Assist in the care for patients with Long Term Conditions. Liaise with local pharmacies, hospitals and community teams. Read and adhere to practice policies. Complete mandatory training and take responsibility for ensuring these are kept up to date. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications and registrations, either in place or pending: Graduate of a Nationally recognised physician associate program. ie (PANCE) Registered on Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR) The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills and qualities: Experience of working in the care sector. About Us Barrack Lane is a busy practice in the town centre of Ipswich, Suffolk. We have a practice population of over 20,000 patients. The practice is based on two sites, the main surgery in the centre of the town, and a branch surgery at Stoke Park. Our Clinical Team is made up of GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced nurse practitioners, advanced care practitioners, dietician, paramedics, physicians associate, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and a practice nursing team and HCAs. This team is supported by a strong administrative, coding and care-navigating team. Barrack Lane is part of a PCN (Primary Care Network) with Ivry Street Medical Centre, in Ipswich, and the two practices cover a population of 32,000 patients. The PCN allows the practices to share resources and offer an enhanced service to our patients. The PCN employs care co-ordinators and social prescribers to work with patients, especially our vulnerable patients, to help them to access the best care.
