Join a forward-thinking civil engineering specialist committed to delivering complex infrasturcture projects across the UK. As Regional H&S Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring operations across the South meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and culture.
About the Role
Reporting to the EHS leadership team, you’ll provide on-the-ground health and safety support to project teams, including involvement in joint ventures and high-profile engineering schemes. You’ll help shape safe systems of work from the planning stage through to delivery, supporting teams with practical advice, site audits, training, and incident investigation.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Conducting site inspections and behavioural safety audits to maintain legal and procedural compliance
* Advising engineers and site managers on H&S best practices during planning and live project stages
* Reviewing RAMS and COSHH assessments, offering guidance and sign-off where delegated
* Supporting the delivery of safety briefings, inductions, toolbox talks, and site-based training
* Investigating near-misses and minor incidents, identifying root causes and proposing solutions
* Collaborating with joint venture and client safety representatives on major schemes
* Participating in project handovers, reviews, and close-out meetings
* Carrying out face-fit testing and supporting drug and alcohol testing protocols
* Promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and shared responsibility on site
What We’re Looking For
* NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (minimum), with TechIOSH membership or working toward
* Solid background in construction or civil engineering environments, ideally across varied or complex projects
* Experience working with or understanding of specialist techniques in structural repair, post-tensioning, or infrastructure strengthening
* Flexible and proactive, able to work independently across multiple sites
* A strong communicator who can influence at all levels and contribute meaningfully to team discussions
* Exceptional organisational skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for improvement
* Full UK driving licence
