Mobile Testing Solutions Ltd (“MTS”) is a global exam service provider for a variety of exam boards across UK and Ireland and also have an online exam preparation school.
MTS is currently looking for IELTS Speaking Test Examiners to work in Bradford on a part time basis.
| IELTS Speaking Test Examiner
Job Details:
* Job Purpose: To conduct face-to-face IELTS exam Speaking section interviews and carry out assessments for the IELTS Speaking section maintaining the standards required by the IELTS Professional Support Network (PSN) and the British Council.
* Role type: Casual worker contract for “piece work”. No minimum guaranteed income or hours worked for the piece work completed
* Working Days: Mostly Saturdays.
* Working Hours: Test taker volumes can vary, but are typically around 8 test takers per Examiner per day. Each speaking test takes 20 minutes to complete and assess, and 20-minute breaks are mandatory after every 6 test takers.
* Start date: As soon as possible
* Reporting To: Examiner’s Trainer
* Location: Bradford (131 Gratton Road, Bradford, BD1 2HS)
* Pay rate: £12 per test taker (€13.92), inclusive of holiday pay
* Expenses: A maximum amount of up to £25.00 (€29.00) per test day, regardless of mode or modes of travel, will be paid to Examiners working at their usual test venue and also as per any receipt submitted. But there may be occasions where MTS specifically and exceptionally asks an Examiner to work at a venue that is not your usual (local) venue. In these cases, will full travel costs will be reimbursed.
* Jagged Profile Marking: Examiners who are invited to mark ‘jagged profile’ IELTS speaking tests are paid £12 (€13.92) per test marked.
IELTS Examiner Requirements:
* Must be one of the following:
1. Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council
2. Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with IDP Australia
3. A recently lapsed (3 months or less) IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council
4. An IELTS Speaking Test Examiner who have not examined between 3 to 6 months are welcomed to apply and will be able to standardise
* An undergraduate degree or a qualification(s) that can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
* A recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL/TEFL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognised university award course.
* At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one-year post-certificate level qualification). The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).
* Enhanced DBS Checks with the Child and Adult Barred List (or their equivalent in other jurisdictions will be requested will be carried out with the selected candidates post interview by MTS before onboarding

* Must have eligibility to live and work in the UK/Ireland

NOTE: Examiners are required to adhere to a Code of Practice and Confidentiality Undertaking and follow all directives from the Centre Administrator and Examiner Trainer. Information will be provided to applicants once recruitment and training have been successfully completed.
Main Responsibilities:
* Train IELTS students on the subject assigned to teach and ensure students' participation by using various skills of teaching to engage students to achieve expected results.
* Self-update on the latest exam trends
* Communicate effectively with students of all age groups and social backgrounds.
* Conduct IELTS Exams assessments (examining and marking)
* Adhere to the IELTS Professional Support Network and British Council policies.
* Participate in Examiner meetings and other relevant meetings as required.
* Maintain the reputation and integrity of IELTS, MTS and the British Council at all times.
* Participate in required British Council training and applying policies in carrying out duties, including Safeguarding and Health and Safety
