The duties include and are not limited to:
1. Supporting a 21-year-old male with an acquired brain injury. The individual also has a diagnosis of autism and is severely partially sighted. He is an able walker and a great communicator who is able to voice his own opinions and what he wants to do.
2. Assisting with the completion of care plans, risk assessments, reviews, and incident & accident reporting.
3. Providing physical and emotional support, which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
4. Contributing to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting learning, independence, and experiences.
5. Building relationships with the individual and providing high levels of care and support.
6. Supporting routines, from normal household routines like waking up and getting out of bed to activities outside.
7. Maintaining professional relationships with clients, family, and external health care professionals, and adhering to company policies and procedures.
The Skills You Need:
1. Great problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
2. Emotional resilience.
3. High levels of professionalism and a non-judgemental attitude - regardless of the service user's needs.
4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
5. DBS Certificate (we can help you acquire this).
6. Driver's license highly preferred to transport.
7. Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or another relevant subject would be preferred.
8. Good sense of humour.
