Job Title: Engineering Manager

Salary: £48,000 to £55,000 (plus Additional Annualised Hours subject to annual review)

We are looking for an experienced site manager to drive engineering standards, organisational development and asset performance to achieve competitive advantage.
Make a tangible impact
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the engineering performance of all assets under your control, contributing towards improving and delivering asset availability annual plan targets and productivity levels.
You will work with the Operations management team across the Corby Site to ensure common standards, practices, and sharing/learning opportunities are implemented.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Manage the engineering budget for the operational area and strive to improve total cost maintenance and asset life cycle costs.
* Drive and embed the SAP Planned Maintenance Programme, ensuring both system and organisational capability to deliver improved engineering performance.
* Implement improved engineering standards within the operational area of control, addressing physicals, systems, and organisational effectiveness. Develop and implement engineering projects that contribute towards achieving business goals.
* Manage resources during major and minor plant shutdowns.
* Ensure effective budgetary management within your area of control.
* Drive area KPIs towards improvement, aiming to reduce downtime on site assets.
* Ensure the area safety standards are applied robustly.
* Manage the team's training to ensure it is applicable to roles within the team.
* Ensure adequate resources are available across all shifts to aid operational objectives.
You will also ensure that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with Tata Steel Tubes Engineering Policy, Tata Steel Health and Safety Standards, statutory regulations, and compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements.
We see your potential
You will be managing a team of circa 50 engineers across multiple levels, so experience managing a multi-disciplined team is essential.
IT proficiency is essential for this role, preferably with experience in the application of MS Project.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has knowledge of managing a Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP experience is advantageous).
* Has experience in managing an engineering budget.
* Has experience in planning and managing plant shutdowns in accordance with Health and Safety.
* Has excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal/management skills.
* Has the ability to train and develop teams.
* Is preferably degree qualified in a relevant discipline, or equivalent by experience, with considerable management experience gained in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment.
